Issue an invoice
Use the dashboard to create a USDC invoice for a customer. You need a deployed Safe and a complete business profile before issuance can finish.
Fill in the invoice#
- Open Invoices and select Issue Invoice.
- In Create Invoice, select an existing customer or add a new one. New customers need a name, email, full billing address, and, for companies, a registration number. See Customers.
- Enter Amount (USDC). The dashboard accepts amounts from 0.01 USDC in cent increments.
- Select Due Date. This is required; the form allows today or a future date.
- Add a Description to explain the charge. For example: “Website maintenance for September, including monitoring and updates.”
- If you want email delivery, select Send invoice by email to the displayed customer address.
The current dialog has one total amount and a description. It does not have a line-item editor, quantity inputs, or an automatic tax calculator. The invoice metadata generates a single line from your amount and description. Check the total and any tax treatment before submitting.
Create and confirm#
Select Create Invoice. If prompted to Complete Your Business Profile, fill it in and select Save Profile. See Business profile for required fields.
Complete any signing prompts and wait for the result. Confirmation is not guaranteed within a fixed number of seconds. If the invoice is submitted but still pending, check the invoice list before attempting a new issuance for the same charge.
A new customer is saved before the invoice transaction is submitted. If issuance fails, look for that customer when trying again rather than creating a duplicate contact.
Share the confirmed invoice#
Open Share Invoice and select Copy Link. Send the complete link, including ?token=..., to the customer. See Share invoices for link access and email delivery status.
Email delivery is separate from invoice creation. A failed email does not undo a confirmed invoice. If confirmation was pending, check the confirmed invoice's Email Delivery section and use the send or retry action offered there; do not assume an email was automatically sent later.
After issuance#
- The invoice remains Issued until paid or canceled. Passing the due date alone does not prevent payment.
- The payer pays the invoice total. The recipient receives the total less the settlement fee.
- To correct an unpaid invoice, cancel it and issue a replacement. There is no dashboard editor for the issued amount or due date.
- Download the invoice PDF for your records.
For programmatic issuance, use the invoice API documentation. For agent-driven work, see Agents.
