Get started
Cleared lets you issue invoices and receive USDC through a Safe smart account. Customers use a payment link to review an invoice and pay from a compatible wallet.
If you received an invoice, go straight to Pay an invoice. You do not need to set up a merchant account to pay with an external wallet.
Set up your account#
- Open Sign in, enter your email, and verify it with the code sent to you.
- For a new account, enter an Organization Name (optional) and select Get Started.
- Complete the wallet prompts and wait for Safe setup to finish before issuing invoices.
Your embedded wallet signs for your Safe. The Safe holds your business's on-chain funds; your organization name is a dashboard label, separate from the legal details on invoices. See security for ownership and delegated access.
Prepare your billing details#
Have your legal name, contact email, full postal address, and company registration number ready. The registration number is required for business/entity profiles.
You will be asked to complete your business profile when you first submit an invoice. Add your customer's billing details in Customers, or create the customer inside the invoice form. Customer records also require an email and complete billing address.
Issue and share your first invoice#
- Open Invoices and select Issue Invoice.
- Choose a customer, enter Amount (USDC), and select the required Due Date. Add a description of the work or goods.
- Optionally select Send invoice by email to the selected customer's email address.
- Select Create Invoice, complete any profile or signing prompts, and wait for the result.
- Once confirmed, open Share Invoice and use Copy Link to send the complete payment link.
Keep the ?token=... part of the link. It grants access to the invoice details. A submitted transaction may still be pending; check the invoice list before creating another invoice for the same charge.
The issue-invoice guide covers the form and confirmation in more detail.
Receive and record payment#
The customer needs USDC on the invoice's network. External-wallet payments also require ETH on that network for gas. Use the network shown in the payment flow; Base mainnet and Base Sepolia testnet balances are separate.
After settlement, the invoice becomes Paid. The recipient receives the amount after the protocol fee. You can download invoices, receipts, and payment exports, then withdraw USDC to another address.
For terminal use, continue with the Cleared CLI. For unattended automation, use API keys or agents.
