Complete your business profile
Your business profile supplies the seller details included in invoice metadata and PDFs. It is separate from the organization name used in the dashboard.
When the profile is required#
When you submit an invoice without a complete profile, Complete Your Business Profile opens. Finish this form before issuance can proceed.
- Choose Business / Entity or Individual / Person under Profile Type.
- Enter Company Name or Full Name, and Contact Email.
- For an entity, enter Registration Number (EIN, etc.).
- Complete Street Address, City, Postal Code, and Country.
- Add the optional fields that apply, then select Save Profile.
For entities, Trade Name / DBA is optional. For individuals, Tax ID is optional. VAT Number is optional for both profile types. Use your actual billing identity rather than a product nickname.
Check details before issuing#
The profile and customer details are copied into an invoice when it is created. Changing a reusable record does not rewrite previously issued invoice metadata. Review the legal name, registration details, contact email, and address before creating invoices.
The dashboard's organization-name setting does not replace this billing profile. The current profile-completion flow is reached through invoice creation; do not look for a separate billing-profile editor in Settings.
Cleared collects structured billing information, but generating a PDF is not a guarantee that an invoice meets every jurisdiction's tax or invoicing rules. Check the details and requirements that apply to your business.
Next steps#
Add a customer, then issue an invoice. To understand who can view the details, see Security and privacy.
